Academic Faculty - Mr. David Lavine
Mr. David Lavine is a Barbadian who has a passion as well as a strategic interest in International Marketing. He is an
Executive Marketer.
Mr. Lavine has some twenty-two years of International Marketing experience including seven (7) years of training
and working in the United States of America. There he reached the level of International Marketing Consultant with a major Research
and Development Company.
During the period 1991 - 2005 Mr. Lavine was employed as a Senior Manager with a major local manufacturing company.
Mr. Lavine is a graduate of Baruch College, City University of New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in International Marketing and a minor in International Relations. Mr. Lavine also attended the University of Dublin Ireland, where he gained a Certificate in International Export Marketing Management and Competence.
His areas of experience include:
- Lectured part-time for five (5) years at a tertiary institution
- International Trade Operations
- Trade & related agreements such as LOME, WTO, CBI, CARICOM, CARIBCAN
- Export Market Development and Management
- Labeling Legislation and Design Aesthetics
- Strategic Planning
- Development of Marketing Plans
- Brand Development
- Market Research
Mr. Lavine has also presented papers locally and regionally on topics relating to above mentioned areas. More recently during 2003 to
present, he has delivered papers on the preparation for the challenges and benefits of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).
In addition, training and preparing company’s personnel in Product Development and Export Entry Strategies execution have been a major
focus for the past ten years.
Mr. Lavine currently serves on the Board of Directors of an International Business Company (IBC) and two
locally owned Corporations.
For the past fifteen years he has been actively involved as a professional member of the American Marketing
Association (AMA).
