1. What are the prerequisites for joining the Durham MBA programme?

A good first degree or a professional qualification and at least 3 year’s work experience. On a case by case basis, we consider students who may not have a first degree but who have very good work experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity for 3 years or more

We are currently accepting applications and arranging interviews for this year’s programme, which commences October 12th 2011.

Seven core modules and five elective courses plus a 15,000 word dissertation

5. Is the programme fully taught?

All of the core modules and one of the electives are taught here in Barbados. The remaining electives can be done via a combination of distance learning with internet support from Durham; attendance in Durham, or attendance in Frankfurt, Germany.

When do I attend classes for the taught element of the programme?

Approximately every 5 weeks for a 4 day period (Wednesday to Saturday)

9. How is assessment done?

Four of the core modules are assessed by both assignment and an exam. The remaining three core modules, as well as all of the electives, are assessed by assignment only.

For 2 hours each on a Saturday.

Approximately 4 weeks after each teaching session assignments are uploaded online to the Business School’s intranet.

12. How can I pay my fees?

The fee for the programme is Bds$45,000. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is paid on acceptance of your offer of a place on the programme; the balance is paid in two lump sums: $24,000 at the commencement of the first year’s studies and $20,000 at the commencement of the 2nd year.
